Newport RFC remembers those who fell during war

Wreaths have been laid at the Memorial Gates at Rodney Parade by Newport RFC and FoNR to remember those from the club who gave up their lives for our freedom.

Dozens of club members across all sections of the club fought and died in World War One with a further significant loss of life from our club in the second world war.

At this time of year as Remembrance Sunday approaches we reflect on the sacrifice of these brave young men and their actions on behalf of our country.

If you get a chance this week, visit the gates and pay your own respects.

We will remember them.
