WORLD RUGBY LAW TRIALS

The four World Rugby Global Law trials are:

  1. 60-second conversion limit to align with penalties and improve game pace – This will be managed by a shot clock where possible.
  1. 30-second setup for lineouts will match time for scrums to reduce downtime – This will be managed on-field by the match officials.
  1. Play-on rule in uncontested lineouts when the throw is not straight.
  1. Scrum-half protection during scrums, rucks, and mauls.

These laws will come into full force in the SRC (and SRC Cup) from Round 14 / 4th January 2025.
