On Saturday Newport play the first of their four ‘special games’ to celebrate their 150th anniversary. It is fitting that we are playing Usk RFC as they are also celebrating their 150th year. The following Saturday 10th August at 3PM we play Blackheath in our second ‘special game’.
We have commissioned a limited edition jersey that the players will wear for these four games based on historical styles worn over the years. It is cotton, with a collar and long sleeves. We are also using the traditional numbering system with the fullback wearing number one etc. We hope this doesn’t confuse supporters…….. or the players!!!
The Newport starting fifteen and replacements will be selected after Thursday’s training session and this preview will be updated with this information.
