Norman Morgan

The club was very sad to hear of the passing of Newport RFC great Norman Morgan. Norman was a legend in black and amber during the 1950’s and early 1960’s.

A very reliable fullback with an accurate and strong boot, Norman played over 200 games for the club scoring 951 points.

Norman represented Crawshay’s, Monmouthshire and the Barbarians and was capped for Wales three times in 1960 including a match at Lansdowne Road against Ireland where he booted a touchline conversion to win the game 9-10.

Norman was inducted into the Newport RFC Hall of Fame in 2016.

The club sends its condolences to Norman’s family and friends.
