Newport are back to The Stadium for Friday’s game against Pontypridd hoping that the winning run will continue.  With fine away wins over Swansea and Carmarthen Quins and a great win over league leaders Aberavon at Rodney Parade, the Black & Ambers seem to have recaptured the style and confidence that brought them success last season.

Last Saturday’s win came at a cost with injuries to Alex Grey, Will Griffiths, Josh Reid and Ioan Davies.  At the end of the game we were down to 13 players ,following two yellow cards, with Josh and Ioan limping but the lads held on for the victory.

Pontypridd played Merthyr in a very tight game last Saturday but just lost in the last few minutes.  We are very familiar with Ponty having played them four times last season with honours shared.  Our games are always exciting as both sides like to play a fast expansive game.  With the weather looking good for Friday we can expect a cracking game.
