NEWPORT v PONTYPRIDD

On Saturday Newport travel to Bridgend to play Pontypridd in the semi-final of The Welsh Premier Club.  This is a huge game for both clubs as a victory earns a place in the final at The Principality Stadium on Sunday, 23rd April.

Ponty  got to this stage the hard way, losing to Bridgend at home but managing a win away at Aberavon and ending up top of the group thanks to bonus points.  The Black & Ambers started with a fine away win against Swansea and sealed their place by beating Llanelli at Newport Stadium.  Games between Newport and Pontypridd are generally high scoring, entertaining affairs and this one is sure to be the same.  Ponty have not been having their usual success in the league this season but you can bet that they will be determined to put in a performance.

Newport have been frustrated by the lack of games over the last month but will be boosted by a fine win at The Talbot Athletic Ground over a good Aberavon outfit last time out.  The Matchday squad will be selected after training on Thursday.
