Newport v Carmarthen

After a thrilling win against Aberavon on Saturday it’s straight back into action on Wednesday for The Black & Ambers.  It was a funny old game at The Talbot Athletic Ground with both sides making errors but we can’t fault the effort that Newport put in to hold the lead and secure a hard fought victory.  Ty Morris had said before the game that we need to win all our games to achieve a place in the league play-offs and that win was a huge step towards that aim.

Carmarthen have found a bit of form after a poor start to the season and until the loss to Merthyr on Saturday they had achieved a four match winning run including away victories over Swansea, Llanelli and Pontypridd. They will prove to be difficult opponents.

Several players picked up injuries on Saturday so the Newport matchday squad will be selected after fitness checks.
