NEWPORT RFC v ABERAVON RFC PREVIEW

Newport’s fine form in the last four league games has earned a home quarter-final in the play-offs against Aberavon RFC.  This game will be played at Newport Stadium, and it’s hoped that the Black & Ambers can recreate the attractive, fast-paced rugby that we’ve seen at Rodney Parade. A win will mean a semi-final game against Cardiff RFC, away, or Bridgend RFC, at home.

Aberavon have had some good results in their recent games including wins against Ebbw Vale and Pontypool, and a close bonus point loss against Llandovery.  They have a very strong pack and some fast, skilful backs, so Newport cannot take anything for granted in this very important game.
