CARDIFF RFC v NEWPORT RFC

There are many ‘derby games’ in Welsh rugby but for most supporters this is the big one. Cardiff against Newport is the game that the players of both clubs want to be a part of. The Blue and Blacks were knocked off top spot in the SRC by Ebbw Vale last week-end and will be keen to get back to winning form while the Black & Ambers, although winning their last two games will admit that they were not at their best even though bonus points were achieved.  Cardiff, in second place now, have five more points than third placed Newport although Ty Morris’s men have a game in hand, so the teams are evenly matched.

With George Young recovered from injury he steps straight in to fill a second-row position. Lloyd Lewis and Ollie Andrew take the wing positions and talisman, Matt O’Brien, takes a place on an extraordinarily strong bench.
