Newport add Dai Lynch to coaching team

Newport RFC are pleased to announce that Dai Lynch will join the coaching team with responsibility for the backs for the 2019/20 season.

Dai played his rugby for Tredegar, Loughborough University, Pontypool and Rhymney before joining Bargoed as coach and later head coach and guiding them all the way up though the Welsh league structure and into the Premiership.

A head teacher by day with a BSc in Maths and Education, Dai is also a Level 4 coach as are Ty Morris and Stuart Lawrence.

On joining Newport Dai commented, “I am delighted to be joining such a prestigious rugby club and looking forward to the challenge of building on the excellent work done by Craig and his coaching team over the past five years. Linking up with Mark, Ty and Stuart was part of the attraction for me as knowing all three personally I am convinced that they will improve me as a coach and that together we can ensure that Newport RFC will continue to be successful in all competitions next year. There are many quality players at the club and I am excited about the prospect of working in collaboration with them to create a product that all stakeholders in the club will enjoy and can be proud of.”

Newport will regroup for training ahead of the new season in July.
