Supporters Trust comes up trumps again

At the Friends of Newport Rugby Trust AGM held on Thursday night at Rodney Parade a presentation was made by chairman Andrew Hopkins who handed over a cheque for £20,000 to Newport RFC's team manager Mark Workman.

The money has been generated via lots of fundraising activities by the supporters group this season as they back their Black & Amber team. Membership fees, raffles, bucket shakes, monthly Bullion Draws and a whole host of other cash generating ideas has led to the Trust being able to hand over a cheque for a substantial amount of money.

FoNR are the fundraising and volunteer support organisation who have done much in recent years to support the club through times of change. Speaking on behalf of the club Mark said, 'The work of FoNR amazes me. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated group of supporters working so hard every week to raise money to support the team and do all of the unseen but hard work behind the scenes'.
