On Friday Newport RFC launched a new initiative with their first rugby camp held at Rougemont School. The event was attended by almost 40 children who spent a whole day learning new skills and enjoying playing lots of games.
The event was led by Newport head coach Craig Warlow, ably assisted by players James Little, Matt Prosser, Geraint O'Driscoll, Chay Smith and Henry Palmer. Craig commented, 'It went really well. The children had a lot of fun whilst learning new skills and there were some tired bodies at the end of the day. Hopefully this is the first of many such camps.'
Newport RFC ambassador Brian 'BJ' Jones also visited the school to watch the camp and remarked, 'Everyone was having great fun. Well done Newport RFC for providing such a fantastic day for our future Black and Ambers.'
