Dragons youngsters to develop with Newport RFC

By Kevin Jarvis | 10/08/2017

In recent seasons there have been many fine young players representing Newport RFC who have come through the Dragons regional academy programme and this successful partnership is set to continue in the 2017/18 season that is about to get underway.

Welsh internationals such as Tyler Morgan and more recently Ollie Griffiths cut their teeth in the Premiership with Newport whilst under the guidance of the regional academy coaches. Current established Dragons players such as Adam Hughes, Lewis Evans and Ashton Hewitt also followed this development route.

Newport were delighted to learn that they would once again have the services of Wales U20 internationals Arwel Robson and Christian Coleman both of who are established members of our squad and excellent players. They will be joined by back row forwards Lennon Greggains and Aaron Wainwright along with winger Corey Howells. All three of the newcomers have arrived with glowing recommendations from the Dragons coaching team and have settled down with the Black & Ambers to prepare for the season ahead.

We welcome all of the lads to the squad and look forward to them developing their professional rugby careers whilst helping Newport RFC in the Principality Premiership.
