Newport RFC has made another five signings for the 2012/13 season as the Black and Ambers continue their recruitment process.
Joining Newport RFC are prop John Lavender who has been playing for Bargoed RFC, second row forward Rhodri Jones who can also cover the back row and open side flanker Craig Attwell who had a spell with the Dragons Academy playing hooker but has now reverted to his original position in the back row and enjoyed a very successful season last year.
Ross Coombs who captained Newbridge for the last three seasons will join Newport. He is a proven hard working back row player who consistently delivers as a player and James Jones will also link up with the squad, James has enjoyed a spell playing in France and is an experienced prop who covers both sides of the scrum.
Head coach for Newport RFC, Sven Cronk, said: “We have been busy recruiting players over the pre season period and have established a strong squad with a mix of young and experienced players.There are a lot of new faces in the squad but players have settled in and pre season training continues to go well.”
