EBBW VALE vs. NEWPORT

Eugene Cross Park on a cold, wet and windy Friday night to face an Ebbw Vale outfit determined to get back on track after three defeats.  A big challenge for Black & Amber players and supporters!!!  After seven straight wins including the televised game against Aberavon where they came back from seventeen – nil down to gain victory nineteen – seventeen, Gregg Woods’ men have slipped up in the last three games although getting a losing bonus point in two of them.  A big test awaits the Rodney Parade outfit.

The Newport players are on a roll after winning their last four games although it gets harder from now on with the top five teams lined up next.  The coaches have rotated the squad over the last month and it will be interesting to see who gets the nod for this one.  They picked a team to utilise the big, flat Rodney Parade surface against Swansea but the weather intervened and the game was played in driving rain.  Let’s hope the weather is good on Friday.

Newport: Dan Preece, Will Evans, Garin Harris, Joe Bartlett, Dan Partridge, Josh Skinner, Rhys Jenkins (Capt.), Chris Williams, Ryan James, Matt O'Brien, Elliott Frewen, Geraint O'Driscoll, Chay Smith, John Morris, David Richards.
