Match Preview

BEDWAS vs. NEWPORT

The trip to the Principality Stadium didn’t go to plan but this game just two days later gives everyone a chance to forget their disappointment and get down to league business.  Our last visit to Bedwas saw us playing some great rugby and we came away with a convincing victory 43-14.  The Bridge Field outfit will be keen to get their revenge and they are bound to see this as an opportunity as the bruised and battered Black & Ambers pick themselves up.

Bedwas are the highest positioned Gwent team after two high scoring wins over Cross Keys and Bargoed and need a victory to maintain that position with Newport just behind on points difference. They are tough to beat on their own turf and their kickers know and use every inch of their pitch.

The Newport coaches will select the team after fitness checks but will probably rotate the squad again as we have a very busy period coming up.  Once again we will depend on the excellent relationships we have with local clubs to allow us to use players on permit.

Team will be posted up as soon as it is finalised.
